GENERAL MANAGER FOR HORIZON CONSTRUCTION LTD
The Role:
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the role of the General Manager is to direct and oversee overall activities of the company. Being responsible for both managerial and operational perfor-mance of the company, the General Manager’s roles shall include, among others, the following tasks:
Reporting to the CEO, Horizon Group Limited, the General Manager shall;
- Ensure implementation of short, medium and long-term objectives, plans and policies of the Company
- Be responsible for Planning, Supervising and coordinating all company activities
- Design a comprehensive roadmap and eagle-eye business plan for the company. This shall include the financial budgets and controls, marketing strategy and growth plans as well as creating internal structures for checks and balances
- Continually review urgent actions and activities relevant to the performance of the com-pany
- Identify and prepare business case proposals and presentations to the Board Of Directors for evaluation and approval
- Market the vision and mission of the company to internal and external stakeholders and aggressively implement it with a view of building a profitable clientele base.
- Represent the company in all meetings
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the CEO, Horizon Ltd
Requirements:
High level skills in;
- Project planning and Execution
- Strategic and analytical thinking with a practical and pragmatic mindset and a strong in-terest in Business Development
- Leadership for results, optimizing the work of multi-disciplinary teams of high caliber individuals.
Strengths:
- Experience of at least 5years with a construction firm
- Project Management abilities
Required Qualifications & Professional experience
- Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA), Masters Degree in Civil Engineering with a bias in Project Management, Professional Management Qualification or Master de-gree in other related fields will be considered.
- A Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University with a minimum 7 years professional experience would be considered.
- Experience in a construction industry or infrastructure development at a senior manage-ment position
- Skills in leading people and management of teams
- Strong and proven ability to work independently to deliver results and
- Strong commitment to professional ethics and integrity
- Fluency in Oral and written English or French with working Knowledge of the other.
