VACANT POSITIONS IN A LEADING INSURANCE COMPANY
We are a pioneer and one of the largest tier one financial institutions in East Africa with a network of branches spread across the country, offering a full range of insurance products and services. The company is seeking to recruit focused, results-oriented and suitably qualified professionals to fill the following positions:
CHIEF TECHNICAL OFFICER (LIFE INSURANCE)
Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a broad range of Life insurance, financial and risk analysis services related primarily to the life insurance industry. Specifically, the candidate will:
- Advise and properly guide Management on technical matters.
- Review reinsurance programs for the company.
- Develop effective tools to drive both profitability and new market growth.
- Prepare revenue budgets for the company's technical operations.
- Determine company policy and sometimes explain complex technical matters to company executives, government officials, shareholders, policyholders, or the public in general.
- Properly guide and motivate personnel involved in technical operations.
- Ensure compliance with the provisions of the insurance laws & regulations.
- Organize appropriate training programs for all technical staff.
- Produce monthly, quarterly and annual reports bothering on technical matters to aid Executive Management decisions.
- Advise management on new lines of business or new geo-graphic markets with existing lines of business by forecasting demand in competitive settings.
Qualifications experience & attributes:
- A good first degree (Minimum of Second Class Lower or Upper Credit) in Insurance/Actuarial Science
- Masters degree in relevant discipline will be an advantage
- Professional membership of ACII or equivalent
- Minimum of 15years' cognate experience, 8 of which must be at Management level in an insurance company
- Knowledge of the Life Insurance industry and government financial regulations
- Special skills in negotiations
- Ability to develop and drive a rapidly growing technical port-folio
- Ability to understand complex financial and life insurance products
- High level of proficiency in IT, numeric reasoning and analysis.
- Maximum of 50 years of age
