INTERGRATED MONITORING OF CRITICAL ECOSYSTEMS (IMCE)
INDIVIDUAL CONSULTANCY (IC) TO PREPARE A PROJECT CLOSING REPORT FOR IMCE
The Integrated Management of Critical Ecosystems (IMCE) project became effective in February 2006 with a total of 54.3 million GEF grant to the Rwanda Government. IMCE was designed to help the Government to ensure a sustainable management of marshlands and associated ecosystems. The project was initially part of the first phase of the Rwanda Rural Sector Support Program and has been effective since February 9, 2006. Project implementation picked up substantially after the IMCE project became a stand-alone project in June 2008. The project closing date has been extended to June 30, 2011.
IMCE intends to apply part of the proceeds to Individual consultant (IC) services to prepare a project closing report.
This Consultancy is expected to document the achievements and lessons of the IMCE project as part of a comprehensive IMCE Project Completion Report. This will be used as an input to the World Bank in the project Implementation Completion Report (ICR).
The assignment will be carried out by a Biodiversity/Environment specialist with expert knowledge of Project Management or equivalent.The Biodiversity specialist, team leader, will be responsible for the overall mission.
The candidate Biodiversity/Environment specialist must have at least a Masters degree in Biodiversity or Environment with a strong background in ecosystem rehabilitation and at least 5 years professional working experience. Proven ability in project completion reporting is one of the necessary assets. Previous work with World Bank (WB) or other multi-lateral development Banks in the same field is an advantage.
The IMCE now invites eligible Individual consultants to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (Curriculum Vitae indicating; qualification, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, etc.).
A consultant will be selected in accordance with the IC selection procedures set out in the World Bank's Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers May 2004, revised October 2006. Corrigendum of May 2010.
