INTERGRATED MONITORING OF CRITICAL ECOSYSTEMS (IMCE)
INDIVIDUAL CONSULTANCY (IC) TO PREPARE GUIDELINES OF MARSHLANDS CONSERVATION IN RWANDA BASED ON BEST PRACTICES
The Integrated Management of Critical Ecosystems (IMCE) project became effective in February 2006 with a total of $4.3 million GEE grant to the Rwanda Government. IMCE was designed to help the Government to ensure a sustainable management of marshlands and associated ecosystems. IMCE intends to apply part of the proceeds to Individual consultant (IC) services to prepare guidelines of Marshlands conservation in Rwanda based on best practices.
The objective of this consultancy is to develop a reader friendly and easy to understand practical guideline for marshland conservation for practitioner and communities, which would include information among others: 1) how to form a functional Water resource Management Cooperative (WAMACO); 2) what type of activities to be implemented for effective marshland conservation; 3) what type of integrated landscape management activities to be implemented in the surrounding of the marshland as incentive for conservation and sustainable use of natural resources and also improved livelihood.
The product will be printed as a booklet and disseminated to the local governments and communities surrounding marshlands in Rwanda. The assignment should take a period not exceeding 30 calendar days. The consultant should initiate work as soon as the contract is signed and produce the paper by 30 May 2011.
The IMCE now invites eligible Individual consultants to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (Curriculum Vitae indicating; qualification, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, etc.).
A consultant will be selected in accordance with the IC selection procedures set out in the World Bank's Guidelines:Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers May 2004, revised October 2006. Corrigendum of May 2010.
