Nurses - Marie Stopes Tanzania

Marie Stopes Tanzania (MST) is a marketing-focused, results-oriented social enterprise, which uses modern management and marketing techniques to provide family planning, reproductive and sexual healthcare and allied services. MST is a member of the Marie Stopes International (MSI) Global Partnership, which operates in over 45 countries worldwide. MST’s goal is to improve quality of life in Tanzania by dramatically improving access to and use of family planning and other reproductive health services.

We are looking for dynamic individuals to join our highly motivated team as Bajaj Outreach Nurse in the following roles;

Job purpose

The Bajaj Outreach Nurse is responsible for providing high quality integrated Reproductive Health services and information with a specific focus on demand generation in the communities we serve. Their main mode of operation is to travel to pre-arranged outreach sites with a dedicated Bajaj vehicle and driver and to provide services to people who come. They also have responsibilities for demand generation activities to ensure high numbers of clients. These activities include management of Community Based Mobilisers (CBMs); participation in special events and visits to various institutes surrounding the implementation area to provide information and services and in order to obtain information from people in order to support institutional learning on how to serve them. The Bajaj Outreach Nurse is line managed by the Outreach Coordinator and also reports to the team leader.

Key Responsibilities
• Creating effective community demand and mobilizing young people about Marie Stopes Tanzania services for implementation of effective youth friendly activities;
• Maintain high quality standards and achieving client satisfaction on Marie Stopes Tanzania outreach services
• Delivering high quality Family Planning and Voluntary Counseling and Testing [VCT] services to clients;
• Developing successful Marie Stopes Tanzania operations on outreach in line with value of the Marie Stopes International partnership and the goals of maximizing access and leading the family Planning Sector
• Provide counseling and care to VCT and FP clients;

Minimum requirements
• A Nursing Certificate; a Diploma level will be more desirable
• At least two years of practical work, in the area of Family Planning and Voluntary Counselling and Testing service delivery
• Experience and knowledge of demand generation / community sensitization
• Demonstrable experience of having delivered services and information to communities
• Desirable: Experience of delivery in outreach set up is an added advantage.
• Up – to date, recent experience in Family Planning and Voluntary Counselling and Testing service delivery and Sexual Reproductive Health Counselling.
• Experience of working independently and as part of a dynamic team.
