You will be part of the Head Office based Finance team in Amsterdam and you report to the Manager Finance & Control, Procurement and legal.
Your challenge
War Child is proud of its current level of transparency to donors and its low cost policy. Together with the team you are responsible for safeguarding and optimizing the standard operating procedures and reporting within War Child. A number of countries, donors and departments will be assigned to you. You visit programme countries to perform internal assessments. You prepare and verify accurate financial reports and budgets and you ensure timely submission to management and donors. You make sure that countries are aware of and adhere to donor and partner financial requirements. Part of your challenge is to train, advise and support the organisation concerning matters of financial administration and financial management. You develop standards to optimize work processes.
Your profile
You hold a degree in Finance (minimum BSc level) and you have at least 5 years of experience in a similar position within an international non-governmental organization. You have experience with donor reporting and preferably with internal audits or assessments of field locations. You have excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written). Fluency in French, Spanish and/ or Arabic is an advantage. You are analytical, result driven and a team player. You are flexible to travel approximately six times per year to a (post-) conflict setting. You are cost conscious and you have strong planning, organizational and communications skills.
