The National Institute of Transport (NIT) was established by Act of Parliament,Number 24 of 1982. Currently the Institute is under the Ministry of Transport. It is fully accredited by the National Council for Technical Education (NACTE).
22.1 TUTORIAL ASSISTANT - (3 POSTS) RE-ADVERTISED.
22.1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Teaches up to NTA level 6 (Ordinary Diploma) ,
• Assists in conducting tutorials and practical exercises for students under close supervision,
• Prepares learning resources for tutorials and practical exercises,
• Assists in conducting research under close supervision,
• Conducts examinations and submits results to the relevant authority timely,
• Carries out Consultancy and Community Development services under close supervision
• Performs any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
22.1.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree with Upper Second Hons. (NTA Level 8) of GPA not less than
3.8, and for unclassified degrees with an overall average of B+ grade or above in the fields of :-

• Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering.
22.1.3 REMUNARATION:

22.2 ASSISTANT LECTURER – (3 POSTS) RE-ADVERTISED
22.2.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Teaches up to NTA level 8 or equivalent,
• Prepares learning resources for tutorial exercises ,
• Conducts research, seminars and case studies,
• Carries’ out Consultancy and Community Development services under supervision ,
• Supervises students’ projects,
• Conducts examinations and submits results to the relevant Authority timely,
• Prepares teaching manuals and
• Performs any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
22.2.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Master's degree or NTA Level 9 of GPA not less than 3.8, and for unclassified degrees, with an overall average of not less than B+ grade. Must have relevant first degree with GPA not less than 3.8 and for unclassified degree, overall average of B+ grade or above.
• Valid or eligible for registration with NACTE as Technical Teacher
OR
• Master's degree or NTA Level 9 of GPA not less than 3.5 and for unclassified degrees, overall average of not less than B Grade;
• relevant working experience in industry of not less than three (3) years and Valid or potential of registration with NACTE as Technical Teacher in the area or fields of study:-
22.2.3 DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORT ENGINEERING AND
TECHNOLOGY.
• Automobile Engineering, Mechanical Engineering/Production Engineering,
Transport Engineering and Civil Engineering /Highway Engineering.
22.3 LECTURERS - (4 POSTS) RE-ADVERTISED 22.3.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Teaches up to NTA level 9,
• Guides and supervises students in building up their practical and research projects,
• Prepares learning resources and design training exercises for students ,
• Conducts consultancy and community services,
• Develops and reviews existing curriculum,
• Undertakes individual research and participates in scientific/academic congregations ,
• Conducts examinations and submits results to the relevant authorities timely,
• Prepares teaching manuals, simulations and case studies for training,
• Coaches junior teaching staff and
• Performs any other duties as may be assigned-by supervisor.
22.3.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• PhD, degree (NTA Level 10 or equivalent) and eligible for registration with NACTE as Technical Teacher.
OR
• Registered professional with Master's degree (NTA Level 9 or equivalent); with at least 10 years' experience in relevant work industry; and at least 5 papers of retrievable publications or Consultancy/Research reports of the academically and professionally appreciable depth in the following fields of study:-

22.4 PRINCIPAL PILOT INSTRUCTOR I – (1 POST) RE-ADVERTISED
22.4.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Teaches up to NTA level 7 and may assist teaching in higher NTA levels,
• Coordinates teaching activities and prepares learning resources,
• Conducts research and consultancy projects,
• Conducts examinations and submits results to relevant authorities timely,
• Develops and reviews curriculum,
• Supervises students projects and research works up to NTA level 8,
• Supervises and assists junior teaching staff,
• Assumes leadership roles and
• Performs any other duties as assigned by supervisor
22.4.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Commercial Pilot license (CPL), Certified Flying Instructor (CFI) rating on CESSNA 172 or 150 with a minimum of 300 hrs of flying.
