We have an exciting and challenging opportunity to take your management skills and commercial expertise to the cutting edge of the global development sector – join Marie Stopes International as a Deputy Regional Director for Eastern and Southern Africa, based in London, and help us transform the lives of millions.
As a Deputy Regional Director, you will partner closely with senior management teams to chart the future growth and strategic response to an ever-increasing demand for our services in the region. Supporting countries across Eastern and Southern Africa, you will ensure that they are strong programmes with vision and results that align with our mission and strategic plan. In essence, you will act as a vital intermediary – translating our core aspirations to the country teams.
Experience within the development sector would be a big plus, but what we’re really looking for is commercial sharpness. You’ll have previous experience in a senior management and leadership position with a track record of achieving results and driving growth. As a Deputy Regional Director, you’ll be able to look at opportunities and solutions through a business lens and manage complex negotiations with external organisations.
International experience is essential, ideally gained in developing nations. You’ll have good facilitative skills and be able to use quantitative evaluation to measure success and meet KPIs. As a leader, you won’t just have gravitas – your team members will find you approachable and responsive to their needs. Through your skills and experience, combined with the right aptitude, you could be the person helping us become an even more efficient, more successful social business – improving the lives of millions in the process.
Marie Stopes International delivers quality family planning and reproductive healthcare to millions of the world's poorest and most vulnerable women. We want to make sure that women everywhere have a choice when it comes to having children. Because we employ and train local people, we are able to work in some really remote and difficult places, like Afghanistan, Sri Lanka and Sierra Leone. For us, it's about making a national impact and transforming the lives of ordinary women around the world.
