Catholic Relief Service South
Sudan Program wishes to recruit highly competent, proactive and self-driven
person (South Sudanese National only) to fill the position of Peace Building Project Officer Juba
based with official travels to field offices.
PURPOSE
OF THE POSITION:
To support the Peacebuilding and Governance
programs for South Sudan in both administrative and technical project
aspects. The
Peacebuilding Project Officer is a general Administrator for the project and
works the under direct supervision of the Peace building Program manager;
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work
closely with the Peacebuilding Program Manager in developing detailed
monthly and quarterly work plans, including description of activities,
timetables and expected results in collaboration with State Project
Manager.
- Closely
follow and track the project’s progress and recommend changes to the
activity plans where appropriate;
- Support
Field staff in the development and
review of proposals with partners’ organizations as key contribution to
the implementation of Projects plans;
- Support
oversight of sub-award tracking in collaboration with the Finance and
Grants Department.
- Working
closely with the Peacebuilding Program Manager in supporting partners’
capacity development (i.e. trainings and mentoring). The purpose is for
partners to be able to submit on timely basis sub-award advance requests,
submission of deliverables and liquidations for a successful and timely
close out process;
- Liaise
with procurement and finance to support timely procurement of project items as required;
- Support
the project manager in reporting outputs internally, donors and other
stakeholders on monthly, quarterly and annual reports basis
- Actively
participate in discussions on programmatic issues, and share information
on political, social and economic developments as required.
- Maintain
updated list and contacts of project’s partners and consultants/facilitators,
in liaison with the HR department;
- Perform
such other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Adhere
to codes of conduct in all activities (e.g., UN Code of Conduct for the
prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse and the CRS Child Protection
Policy), needs of vulnerable people,
violations of human rights, child rights and women’s rights (i.e.,
international conventions), and reporting mechanisms.
- Undertake regular communication and consultation
with CRS’ South Sudanese partners, relevant donors and other stakeholders
as relevant
- Ensure
the cross-cutting issues of IDPs/Returnees, HIV/AIDS, women and youth are
addressed within the program context and institutionally.

Remain
informed of new developments in the wider peace building field
- Perform
any other task assigned by Supervisor.
Emergency Response:
"The (Designation)
may be called upon as part of their roles and responsibilities to participate
and/ or provide support in emergency response situations when and where
required in consultation with their supervisor."

government, especially the South Sudan Peace and Reconciliation Commission
(SSPRC), The Sudan Council of Churches and Diocesan partners, The South Sudan
Relief and Rehabilitation Commission (SSRRC), and other community members, international
Minimum Qualifications/Experience
§ Minimum University degree in social work and Social Administration,
Political Science community development
or related field;
§ A minimum of two years work in a relevant field;
- General understanding of human rights, governance and peace
building principles;
§ Refined training and facilitation skills, especially in cross-cultural
environments;
- Proven abilities in managing successful community-based projects;
- General understanding of project management and monitoring
techniques;
- Proven analytical, problem-solving skills and comfortable working
under minimal supervision;
- Energetic and motivated skills in community mobilization, training,
and team-building;
- Highly organized, efficient, and able to meet key deadlines;
- Highly developed inter-personal skills/inter-cultural sensitivity;
- Proficient in typing, MS-Word, Microsoft Excel, and email/internet
programs; and
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

line with their specifications and schedule deadlines.

required, develop funding proposal for these.
