Key Responsibilities
Futures Group is recruiting a Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) for a health and welfare systems strengthening and data use program. The DCOP will work closely with the Chief of Party (COP) and serve as the primary project representative in the COP’s absence. Key responsibilities include:
- Provide senior-level content knowledge, technical assistance, consultation, and support for the development, execution, and monitoring of project-specific strategies.
- Oversee technical staff and coordinate with implementing partners.
- Provide key representation and serve as a point of collaboration with donors and other coordinating bodies and providers.
- Work with and build the capacity of local government authorities and local CBOs.
- Contribute to development of work plans, budgets, reports, presentations, and deliverables.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in social sciences, public health, or other relevant field.
- Minimum of ten years of experience in international development programs, preferably with experience in Tanzania.
- Minimum of three years of demonstrated experience in a senior program management role including direct supervision of professional and support staff.
- Experience in coordination and collaboration of stakeholders including government agencies, host country governments and counterparts, and international donor agencies.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
- Attention to detail and ability to effectively and efficiently perform multiple tasks and balance competing priorities often within a required timeframe.
- Professional and diplomatic demeanor and conduct, especially during interactions with the client and its constituents.
- Ability to anticipate, respond and adapt quickly to changing requirements and competing demands.
- Experience with USG-funded projects preferred.
- Tanzanian nationals are strongly encouraged to apply.
