BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION This is one of the Warehouseman positions that require the receipt, delivery and storage of furniture and supplies and other manual duties. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES · Upon receipt of requisitions for furniture, supplies and equipment, locates items in the warehouse storage areas and transfers them to the loading area utilizing material handling equipments such as forklifts, hand trucks and pallet jacks. Inspects the items for damage and cleanliness to ensure they are in proper condition for issuance. 30% · Prepares furniture and equipment for transfer to respective locations, by ensuring that items are covered with protective wrappings and carefully loading and securing items into Embassy vehicles for transport. Upon delivery, coordinates with receiving parties for security checks as required and proper placement. Unloads vehicles utilizing proper handling equipment to avoid damage to both Non Expendable and Expendable property. 30% · Unloads supplies, furniture and equipment being received at the warehouse for storage and utilizes handling equipment to position in the proper areas based on the storage plan, stacking requirements and floor load capacity. Inspects items for damage and cleanliness and provides protective coverings for long term storage. Moves and reposition items between warehouse storage areas as required and ensures that items are stored in correct locations. Assists with inventory of both Non Expendable and Expendable property. 30% · Maintains cleanliness in the Warehouse areas by ensuring that stored items are clean i.e. by dusting, sweeping, cleaning and disposing of trash. Informs the Warehouse Supervisor of any fire or safety hazards, pest infestations, water intrusion or other conditions that may cause employee injury or damage to stored materials. Performs minor cleaning of the official tents and party supplies as well as maintenance of wall, floor patching, painting and any other duties as required by the Warehouse supervisors, Assistant General Service Officer/Warehouse or Supervisory General Service Officer. Performance of other duties would include driving the warehouse trucks when the Truck Drivers are out and an emergency arises. 10% Selection Process: WHEN EQUALLY QUALIFIED, U.S. CITIZEN ELIGIBLE FAMILY MEMBER (USEFMs) AND U.S. VETERANS WILL BE GIVEN PREFERENCE.
