The successful candidate will be responsible to provide counsel in all legal matters.
Reporting Line: Manager Organisational Capability
Location: Dar es Salaam Office
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday (Half day on Saturdays)
SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES
• To coordinate management efforts and strategies in resolving imminent industrial disputes or any industrial dispute as they may arise.
• To attend Employee’s problems and complaints which relate may yield into formal complaint.
• To advise employees and investigate their problems and disciplinary issues.
• To coordinate and sit in all disciplinary meetings.
• To advise management /employees on matters related to Labour relations.
• To manage administrative work those that involve official correspondences.
• To work closely with Mantra Tanzania Ltd contractors over contractual relations matters.
• To attend to the Tribunals, conciliations boards and Courts in all legal matters.
• To liaise with advocates of the Company on all legal matters.
• To liaise with other Legal Offices of Ministry District/Councils and Regional on legal and other related matters.
• To coordinate all trade union activities at the Mkuju River site.
• Any other duties, which will be assigned by the Manager Organisational Capability or Managing Director.
PERSON SPECIFICATIONS
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Law from an accredited University.
Experience
• At least 5 years of experience.
Knowledge and Skills
• A broad knowledge of the Labour Law and other related Laws.
• An excellent command of and ability to draft fluently in English
• Good negotiation and interpersonal skills
• Self motivated
