The International Monetary Fund is looking to hire an experienced and highly motivated individual to manage its growing broadcast and audio visual services team. The position requires an individual capable of managing and leading a diverse group of staff responsible for providing live and prerecorded broadcast television programming, feature video news stories, still imaging news photography, and facilities audio visual services.
The Senior Media Officer, Broadcast and Audiovisual Services, provides strategic direction and operational management of the International Monetary Fund's broadcast and audiovisual programs and operations, ensuring functional and technologically suitable solutions and formulation of audience appropriate messages.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
· Formulates and implements strategic initiatives that result in providing modern and efficient broadcast and audiovisual facilities and resources and products that support the needs of a global financial organization.
· Plans and initiates policies, determines priorities, establishes objectives, leads and manages the work of the Broadcast and Audiovisual Team.
· Solicits, analyzes and defines departmental and Fund wide requirements, identifies best practices, formulates recommendations, and implements and measures the impact of current and proposed policies, procedures, services, and operations. Specifically ensures that the Fund's needs are being effectively met in the creation, implementation, and delivery of still image photography, live and prerecorded broadcasts, video post production, web streaming, and on-site audiovisual services.
· Communicates and develops strategies with senior management, outside organizations, and the news media regarding the most appropriate forms of communication, technologies and channels for forming and delivering Fund messages. Actively engages outside organizations and public and private sector entities in a cooperative dialogue to ensure a productive exchange and sharing of best practices in broadcast and audiovisual operations and technologies.
· Develops, formulates and manages capital and administrative budgets. Develops Statements of Work and assists with the formulation and awarding of RFPs and the management of contracts for facilities, technology, and vendor augmentation staffing.
· Manages the performance of Media Officers in the effective and efficient execution of tasks related to broadcast and audio video activities. Creates work plans, sets appropriate and achievable developmental and work objectives, ensuring timely delivery of operational direction and performance feedback. Acts as the first-line supervisor for team staff, including the management of staff's appraisal, coaching, performance issues, and approval of training and leave plans, etc.
· Ensures that the Fund maintains technologically up-to-date and operationally efficient and effective facilities to support broadcast and audiovisual functions throughout the headquarters complex.
· Selects vendors for specific jobs and oversees their performance against contractual terms and conditions. Ensures that in-house or external vendor companies or vendor personnel provide the deliverables according to contract and works closely with these vendors to ensure that schedule, quality, project, and budgetary requirements are met.

Prospective candidates should possess extensive knowledge and experience in both the business and technical skills required to manage broadcast and web based video programming, and facility audio visual services, including multi-room audio and video support services, large event planning and execution, and the renewal and expansion of existing plant facilities.
Qualifications
Educational development, typically acquired by the completion of an advanced university degree in communications, television broadcast production, or a related field, plus a minimum of four years of relevant professional experience; or a Bachelor's Degree, supplemented by a minimum of ten years of relevant professional work experience, is required.
