Organizational Setting |
The Department of Technical Cooperation (TC), through Major Programme 6 - Management of Technical Cooperation for Development, provides strategic direction for planning and works closely with Member States to formulate and implement the technical cooperation programme based on their identified needs, interests and priorities. Advice is received on key technical cooperation trends and issues from the Standing Advisory Group on Technical Cooperation (SAGTAC). The Department comprises four regional Divisions (Africa, Asia and the Pacific, Europe and Latin America) and a Division of Programme Support and Coordination. The TC operating environment is interactive, participative and dynamic with continuous inputs received from the Board of Governors, the General Conference, policy and decision-makers as well as technical counterparts in Member States, other parts of the Secretariat and the international development community. |
Main purpose |
Reporting to the Deputy Director General, the Programme Coordinator organizes the planning, monitoring and performance reporting for MP6. He/she provides analysis and research on feedback received from stakeholders, in particular governing bodies. |
Role |
The Programme Coordinator is an analyst, reviewing and analysing complex information from a broad range of sources, a policy developer, leveraging this analysis into concrete proposals for improving the performance of MP6 and a planner ensuring consistency and harmonization of programmatic inputs at departmental and interdepartmental level. |
Partnerships |
The Programme Coordinator builds strong working relationships with senior staff in and outside the Department liaising at a policy and strategic level. He/she collaborates and interacts closely with other Programme Coordinators. He/she maintains a network of contacts for facilitating dialogue with Member States. |

Remuneration |
The IAEA offers an attractive remuneration package including a tax-free annual net base salary starting at US $80 629 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance), a variable post adjustment which currently amounts to US $52 570*, dependency benefits, diplomatic status, rental subsidy, education grant, relocation and repatriation expenses; 6 weeks' annual vacation, home leave, pension plan and health insurance.
