The Tanzania Standard (Newspapers) Limited is a limited liability company owned by the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania. The company publishes Tanzania's leading newspapers - Daily News, Sunday News, HabariLeo, HabariLeo Jumapili and SpotiLeo.
The company wishes to recruit suitable qualified candidates to fill the vacant positions of Legal Officer II; Receptionist and Librarian at our Head Office.

a) Entry Qualifications and Advancement
i) Direct Entry Qualifications
Holder of M.A in Finance, Business Administration or its equivalent from a recognized institution plus CPA (HClMA, ACCA or equivalent qualification and must be registered with NBAA as Certified Public Accountant. S/he must have at least 11 years relevant work experience five of which must have been in a senior managerial position. Must be knowledgeable with relevant computer accounting package.
b) Duties and Responsibilities:
Manages a system of accounts for goods and services to enable accurate and timely reporting of the Company's expenditure on goods and services procured;
Controls all records, including invoices raised to customers, to ensure they are correctly billed to the right customers;
Provides the requirements of the external auditor to ensure a full and rigorous audit of Company's accounts and takes action to implement recommendations;
Approves payments within specified limits for all goods and services procured by the Company to ensure that expenditure is in line with the budget;
Prepares accounting and other financial reports;
Ensures maintenance of accurate account records as per approved policies and procedures;
Ensures that audit queries are responded to promptly;
Prepares timely and accurate reports and distributes to appropriate users;
Liaises with other departments for formulations of systems and procedures pertinent to proper financial accounting control;
Coordinates the preparation of the Company's annual budget;
Reviews and submits the statutory returns;
Ensures compliance to accounting standards and regulations;
Conducts open performance review and appraisal of subordinates and gives feedback;
Develops individual objectives and performance standards as part of the individual performance agreement in consultation with the Managing Editor;
Performs any other duties as may be assigned by Managing Editor
