FHI360 is seeking qualified Specialists for the position of Malaria Technical Director for an upcoming US Government funded integrated health service delivery project in Tanzania. Under the supervision of the Chief of Party, the Malaria Technical Director will be responsible for technical oversight of malaria treatment and prevention activities.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the strategy for and oversee the implementation of the project's malaria prevention and treatment activities including LLIN distribution, facility and community case management activities, prevention of malaria during pregnancy, and SBCC interventions.
• Provide general technical support to the Government of Tanzania in malaria case management, including developing case management tools, participating in technical working groups, and providing technical leadership.
• Support direct reports to implement training programs for the public and private sector in quality malaria case management and IPTP.
• Collaborate with Government of Tanzania staff to strengthen the quality improvement and supervision systems for malaria interventions.
• Promote the use of indicators to monitor compliance with case management standards.
• Oversee supportive supervision of trained facility and community health workers.
• Contribute to work plan development and project reporting.
• Work with M&E Advisor to monitor and evaluate the progress and impact of activities and guide operational research studies.
• Document project results and impacts in various forms, including media stories, lessons learned, case studies, etc.
• Supervise direct reports with particular focus on their key tasks and the quality of project deliverables.
• Other duties as assigned.
