Marie Stopes Tanzania (MST) is a marketing-focused, results-oriented social enterprise, which uses modern management and marketing techniques to provide family planning, reproductive and sexual healthcare and allied services. MST is a member of the Marie Stopes International (MSI) Global Partnership, which operates in over 45 countries worldwide. MST’s goal is to improve quality of life in Tanzania by dramatically improving access to and use of family planning and other reproductive health services.
We are looking for dynamic individuals to join our highly motivated team in the following roles;
Job Purpose
The Bajaj driver is responsible for ensuring the safe transport of Marie Stopes Tanzania Outreach Nurse[s] and program facilities to and from the outreach implementation areas. The driver is also responsible for the maintenance and performance of the outreach assigned Bajaj with professionalism and Excellency while on duty. The driver will perform tasks related to driving Marie Stopes Tanzania Bajaj in a safe and most economical manner as per the Marie Stopes Tanzania policy and the traffic laws and regulations of Tanzania.
Key Responsibilities
• Drive Bajaj Outreach nurses from the Marie Stopes Tanzania centers to the sites;
• Observe speed limits and all MST travel guidelines;
• Keep the Bajaj well maintained, fueled and serviced promptly and is in sound mechanical conditions;
• Check the First Aid Kits & tools before any trip to the outreach site and make sure that are complete and radio is in good condition;
• Maintain accurate vehicle records to ensure that all trips, fuel fill-ups, time and mileage readings are recorded on a daily basis and submit the Bajaj log sheets timely as per the required schedule;
• Ensure that vehicle road licenses and insurance are valid and report upcoming expiries in good time ( at least 2 weeks in advance of renewal) to have them renewed;
• Provide logistical support to the Bajaj outreach nurse including packing the equipment’s in a most safe way to avoid any breakages; carrying the equipment in the Bajaj and after the activities from the fields from MST center to Bajaj.
Minimum Requirements
• Completion of Secondary Level
• Driver’s Licence
• Knowledge of the basic operation and maintenance of petrol and diesel engines, and vehicle framework;
• At least 2 years driving experience with and international NGO, UN agency, or private enterprise;
• Bajaj driving skills;
• Basic English speaking/writing skills
• Effective Analytical and problem-solving skills;
