Quality Food Products Ltd. (QFP) is an agribusiness company that is involved in contracting, financing, marketing and servicing farmers around Arusha to enable mechanized crop production. The company purchases crop from contracted farmers, processes the crop and exports final product to Kenya, Europe and China. The company currently deals with maize, dry beans, sunflower, and safflower.
Oilseeds are crushed at a facility in Arusha, packed in containers and exported via Tanga port. Beans are cleaned, sorted and packed at HQ and shipped in containers via Tanga. Maize is dried, cleaned, packed and mostly exported to Kenya.
The company operates through various stations built near our farmers in Galapo, Lokisale and Engasmet.
QFP is looking for motivated, experienced, team players who are interested to join a fast-paced, challenging work environment. QFP is currently recruiting for a Processing and Logistics Manager
Division:
Head – Processing and Logistics
Location:
Arusha HQ, 20-30% travel to farms around Arusha
Duties and responsibilities:
a) Manage and execute on all the processing activities the company engages in with all the crops (beans, oilseeds and maize)
b) Manage and execute on the planned construction and consolidation of processing activities.
c) Manage and execute on certification procedures for processing activities, including HAACP and ISO certification
d) Prepare SOPs for all processing and logistics activities
e) Contribute to the design and implementation of internal MIS system to record, track and present key target metrics
f) Focus on and report on improving profitability of processing and logistics activities.
g) Regularly report to the executive team on the progress of execution. From time to time, may be required to present to the Board of Directors
h) Manage the inbound and outbound logistics with an in house fleet supplemented by rented vehicles: Inputs HQ to Farms, Crop from farm to HQ, Product from HQ to Port, Port to Destination
Minimum Qualifications
a) Completed Bachelors degree.
b) Should have minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role
c) Should have exceptional communication and presentation skills. Fluency in English and Kiswahili is mandatory.
d) Should be an exceptional team player
e) Should have experience with HAACP/ISO certifications
f) Should have experience with managing a fleet of vehicles
g) Experience with agriculture and/or contract farming is a plus
h) Should be extremely detail oriented but also see bigger picture
i) Should be Analytical minded
j) Should be Energetic and ready to execute
