Logistics Coordinator Job at Serengeti Breweries Ltd (SBL)

Serengeti Breweries Ltd (SBL) operates exclusively in Tanzania and is the 2nd largest beer company with a market share of just under 30%. It is an integrated demand/supply business with 3 operational breweries in Dar and Mwanza, and a third one in Moshi. Diageo boasts some of the world's biggest spirits brands which are sold in the country such as Johnnie Walker, Smirnoff and Bailey's to mention a few.


Purpose of the role

The Logistics coordinator’s role is pivotal in ensuring that outward logistics are in place and that the set structures work efficiently.  Given wide geographic coverage, the role of the LC is critical in ensuring timely and effective management of FGs, movement from Packaging location to Warehouse, stacking etc.

The Logistics coordinator is expected to ensure best practices in the management of FG Warehouse.


Top 3-5 Accountabilities

1. Count, prepare and Publish the opening stock balances in the Warehouseand by 8am daily.

2. Prepare daily stock reconciliation reports for sign off by the Logistics lead.

3. Coordinate the smooth service to production by ensuring enough empties are available for daily production and FG evacuation to provide storage space at the brewery.

4. Ensure all in bound inventory is receipted and posted timely both physically and in the system (SAP) as per the Standard Operating Procedures.

5. Prepare and Publish daily stock transfer tracker at an interval of 2 hours daily starting at 10 am.

6. Coordinate all process logistics activities that are not limited to systems inventory movement postings like scrapping (with approval request to LogisticsLead) intra - location stock transfers, rework etc.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

Qualifications
• Degree or Diploma in procurement or Logistics management or equivalent.
• SAP literacy would be an added advantage

Experience•At least three (3) years experience in a busy commercial environment with at least two-year’s experience in handling the intricacies of outward logistics.
