Responsibilities:
The technical professional is responsible for:-
-Implementing daily operational aspects of all issues related to the project
-Maintaining of good flow of communication and information between all involved institutions and counterparts and GIZ
-Ensuring that the project office runs smoothly
Tasks:
The technical professional
-Coordinate and assist in preparing and conducting project activities
-Coordinate the organization and logistical preparation of workshop,meetings etc
-Participate in formulating project action plans and helps synchronise the planning and budgeting system
-Develop and maintains contact with all important stakeholders;eg.government organizations,donor agensies,diplomatic missions,civil society organizations,academia,private sector
-Provide technical assistance to local and international expert
-Ensure knowledge management;collect,processes and distributes relevant information,monitr relevant trend and development in the sector,monitor comunication and interaction between government institution,NGOs and society through analyses of the media,direct dialogue,participation in meeting and seminars etc.
-Identifies the need for external support and advice and works on policy recommendations
-Is responsible for developing and implenting project/programme plans and activities in close consultation with counterparts
-Helps prepare and implement the coordination process,joint project/programme activities and work in the project regions
-Prepares terms of reference and assist in the supervision of third parties and short term experts for implementation of specific project activities
-Monitor project progress,reviews reports and documents on the progress of joint progremmes,identifies bottlenecks and develops alternative management options
Required Qualifications,Competences and experience:
Qualifications:
-University degree(equivalent to BA masters) in social sciences,economics,natural sciences,or with a forucus on policy and gorvernance issues in the extractive sector
Professional experience:
-At least 2 year's proffessional experience in a comparable position,preferably related to the field of governance in extractive sector
Other knowledge,additional competences:
-Good working knowledge of ICT technologies
-Strong organizational competence
-Very good written and spoken knowledge of eglish,knowledge of additional languages such as swahili and German would be an asset
-Good understanding of issues related to extractive industries and governance of the extractive sector
-Knowledge of key stakeholders,policy-making/regulatory bodies and development partners relevant for the extractive sector in Tanzania
