Christian Aid is the development and campaigning agency of 40 sponsoring churches in the UK and Ireland. We have a vision – an end to poverty – and we believe that vision can become a reality. In pursuit of this goal, we work in partnership with local NGOs in Ethiopia on resilient livelihoods, community health and HIV, and equitable society themes with pro-poor renewable energy and climate change projects, DRR, downward accountability and gender sensitive programming as cross-cutting themes. A vacancy has arisen in our country team for a competent and dynamic Programme Manager.
As a Programme Manager you will have had substantial experience in a similar role of leading and managing large partner portfolios and projects, programme/project design, development, monitoring and evaluation, budget development and control, team building, capacity building, net-working, fund raising and representation both internally and externally.
You will have post-graduate level education in development or the equivalent; you will have an advanced understanding of international development, the policy, humanitarian and development context in Ethiopia. You will be familiar with practical applications of various participatory community mobilisation, organisation, empowerment, policy analysis and advocacy tools and methodologies.
Excellent programmatic and financial monitoring and evaluation, grant management, partner support and capacity building skills will be pivotal to the success of this role. You will be an excellent communicator and demonstrate fluency in the English language and use of standard computer software.
