Management Unit
10.1 Principal duties
and responsibilities
• Heads the Procurement
Management Unit;
• Ensures that
Corporation’s policies, strategies, standards and procedures on procurement;
• Ensures timely
availability of quality goods and services to support business operations,
maintain optimum stock and reduce stockholding value;
• Develops long-term and
short term procurement plans in liaison with user departments;
• Ensures that all
procurements meet the Corporation’s quality specifications and standards;
• Organizes and manages
procurement through the Corporation’s Tender Board/Committee;
• Provides secretariat
services to the Corporation’s Tender Board;
• Prepares budget for
the unit and ensures its effective control;
• Prepares timely and
accurate reports and distributes to appropriate users;
• Coordinates the
preparation and implementation of annual procurement plans;
• Coordinates training
for the subordinate staff.
• Conducts open
performance review and appraisal of subordinates and gives feed back;
• Develops individual
objectives/targets and performance standards as part of the individual
performance agreement in consultation with the immediate superior; and
• Performs any other
duties as may be assigned from time to time by superior.
10.2 Professional
Qualifications and Experience
Holder of a Masters
Degree in Procurement Management and Logistics, fully registered as Certified
Procurement and Supplies Professional (CPSP) or equivalent from a recognized
Institute with 8 years experience in materials management
10.3 Competence among
others are:-
• Computer literacy is
essential;
• Ability to communicate
with excellent writing skills;
• Ability to supervise
and direct junior staffs.
10.4 Remuneration
According to STAMICO
schemes of service in the salary scale of STAMICO - Salary Scale SMC 9.
