Senior Assistant Commissioner - Board Affairs, Legal Opinions and Conveyancing Services
Duties and Responsibilities
- Implementing procedures, tactics and work plans for the Section.
- Managing and developing of staff.
- Reviewing the draft budget and consolidating Annual Procurement, training and Disposal Plans.
- Coordinating compliance with relevant legislation.
- Provision of legal advice/opinions.
- Maintaining a Database for all KRA’S legal and security documents.
- Vetting all legal instruments and documents before execution.
- Monitoring changes in the regulatory environment and advise the Deputy Commissioner — Board Services and or Conveyancing.
- Coordinating the preparation and implementation of the budget, training and Annual Procurement Plan for the department.
- Provide secretarial services to the Board.
- Ensure timely preparation of contracts, leases, agreements and Memorandum of Understanding (MOUs).
- Ensure proper legal research is undertaken.
- Ensure the development and implementation of ICT systems for the Board Secretary Department.
- Any other relevant duties assigned.
Requirements for Appointment
Academic and professional qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Law from a recognized University.
- A Masters degree in a relevant field.
- Post Graduate Diploma in Law (KSL)
- Be an advocate of the High Court of Kenya.
- A Certified Public Secretary of Kenya (CPS - K)
- Senior Management and leadership training.
- Must have at least Six (6) years experience, four (4) of which must be in senior position in a comparable organization.
