Deputy Commissioner - Board Affairs, Legal Opinions and Conveyancing Services
Duties and responsibilities
- Negotiating, drafting and vetting of agreements.
- Overseeing regular and timely performance reporting as well as the development of the department’s business plan in alignment with the KRA’S Corporate Plan.
- Coordinating timely preparation of contracts, leases, agreements and Memorandum of Understanding (MOUs).
- Coordinating the prompt and accurate legal advice / opinions to all departments in the Authority including advising the Board on all legal matters and implications of proposed policies and legislations.
- Supervising and developing departmental staff to achieve expected performance goals and objectives.
- Ensure financial resources effectively, ensuring cost management and development of activity based budgets.
- Coordinating the development and implementation of ICT systems for the Board Secretary Department.
- Any other relevant duties assigned.
Requirements for Appointment
Academic and professional qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Law from a recognized University.
- A Masters degree in a relevant field.
- Post Graduate Diploma in Law (KSL)
- A Certified Public Secretary of Kenya (CPS - K)
- Senior management and leadership training.
- Must have at least Eight (8) years experience, five (5) of which must be in senior management in a comparable organization.
