Position Description:

 Civil Materials lab Technician/Engineer

Civil Technician/Engineer required for a consulting Engineering Firm

Qualificaion and experience:

1.    National Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering

2.    Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in field investigations

3.    Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience in laboratory

4.    Thorough knowledge of pavement materials, concrete and surfacing aggregates, quality management and excellent administrative skills

5.    Knowledge of CML Manual and relevant testing documents

6.    Knowledge of laboratory quality and auditing procedures

7.    Computer skills, Word and Excel

8.    Good communication skills

9.    Able to work independently and meet tight deadlines

10.Drivers license and own transport

Responsibilities:

1.    General Management of Laboratory

2.    Marketing

3.    Responsible for the  testing of materials such as; asphalt, soil, bitumen, concrete, and aggregate.

4.    Training of personnel, ensuring staff have the required competence

5.    Analysis of laboratory results and statistical assessment of the results

6.    Report writing on test results.

7.    Clients Liaison
