Assistant Commissioner - Procurement / Inventory
Duties and Responsibilities
- Preparing and implementing procedures, tactics and work plans for the Section.
- Consolidating the Annual Procurement / Disposal Plans.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
- Ensuring the efficient discharge of procurement/inventory activities.
- Supervising the activities of the tendering process.
- Preparing procurement /supplies reports and updates.
- Conducting pre-bid and post-bid briefing sessions.
- Preparing responses to audit and investigative reports/queries.
- Managing and developing of staff in the unit.
- Reviewing of tender documents, contract documents and proposals.
- Any other relevant duties assigned.
Requirements for Appointment
Academic and professional qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business/Commerce/Economics/Procurement & Supplies or related field from a recognized University.
- A Masters Degree will be an added advantage.
- Middle level management and leadership training.
- Membership to a relevant professional body.
- Post Graduate Diploma in Purchasing and Supplies (CIPS) or its equivalent.
- Must have at least five (5) years experience, three (3) of which must be in a senior position in a comparable organization.
