About the Job: 
FINCA International is seeking a Livelihoods Specialist. S/he will be responsible to develop intervention strategies, build the business case, and build partnerships that will improve clients's€™ productivity and enhance their access to inputs and markets.

Tasks and Responsibilities: 

• Assess the demand and potential for livelihoods programs and technologies in specific countries;
• Analyze relevant value chains and identify leverage points for intervention;
• Identify and evaluate the role of prospective partners;
• Propose strategies that are flexible to evolving markets, that fit with FINCA’s existing programs and business activities;
• Devise an action plan and financial projections for launch and expansion to maximum achievable scale;
• Formulate a risk assessment of each intervention, including obstacles to entry, success, and sustainability.

Qualifications: 

• Masters of Arts in supply chain management, international development, business administration, or related field;
• Minimum 7 to 10 years of experience working in the livelihood sector, value chain assessment or market linkages;
• Proven experience researching, formulating, and implementing new initiatives in developing countries or other challenging environments, financial planning experience a plus;
• Knowledge of the value chain approach, particularly in an African context;
• Previous experience in Africa preferred;
• Fluency in English required, fluency in French preferred;
• Computer skills: Microsoft Office.
