Job Purpose
Under
the Supervision of the Senior District Social Welfare Officer, the Social
Welfare Officer will assist in leading, managing and supervising social
welfare and child protection activities in the Kasulu district. He/She will
assist in strengthening the district child protection information management
systems (DCPIMS), record keeping, data entry and generation of relevant child
protection reports. The post holder will also support
community mobilization, identification of vulnerable children and individuals
in needs of social support assist in trainings, and coordination of District
Child Protection Team activities. KDC/IRC
seeks to recruit qualified, energetic and committed candidates to fill the
following position:

Specific
duties:
·
Assist
in leading the process of recording and electronic data entry into the District
Child Protection Information Management system using approve KDC case
management forms.
·
Interview
and provide services to people with special need (disabilities, elderly person
and family with problems)
·
Conducting
household assessment to people of concern
·
Prepare
reports related to interview and assessment conducted
·
Receive
and collect reports of Social Welfare from
various stakeholders and other Social Welfare stations
·
Receive
and collect statistics related to services provided to people with disability, elderly, children
care and family with problems
·
Receive,
sorting and prepare list of applied day care centre’s for registration
·
Receive,
sorting and prepare a list of family requiring presidential support basically
women delivered twins or triple children.
·
Receive
sorting and prepare a list of orphans children or people who need support.
·
Receive,
sorting and prepare various application from family with hard life condition
·
Interrogate
and prepare report of people concern with perpetrators
·
Monitor
people who receive residential support, vocational training support related to
people with disabilities, juvenal jail and children behavior change
·
Perform
any other duties as assigned by supervisor for education, experience and skill
growth.
Requirements
·
BA
(Social Work or Sociology) or Advance Diploma of Social Work from higher
learning Institute recognized by Government
·
Experience
working with children, and especially vulnerable children desirable
·
Basic
IT skills: knowledge of MS Word; Excel and Outlook required
·
Ability
to facilitate training to children, communities and local leaders
·
Interviewing
skills
·
Excellent
ability to write and Swahili and English languages
