Africare’s Injongo Yethu Project provides technical support and assistance as a contribution to the South African Government’s response to HIV and AIDS in the Chris Hani, Cacadu and Amathole Districts of the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa. Funded by the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), the project aims to strengthen and scale up prevention, treatment, care and support for people living with HIV and AIDS, their caregivers, family members and community, including orphans and children made vulnerable due to HIV and AIDS.

Minimum requirements: • A degree/diploma in General Nursing and Community Nursing Science • Registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse (mandatory) • Experience in training and mentoring healthcare workers on the provision of care, treatment and support services for HIV and AIDS, TB and STIs in the South African public health sector • Good communication, report-writing, presentation and interpersonal skills • A valid driver’s licence and ability to travel extensively to facilities.

Minimum requirements: • A medical degree with a Master’s in Public Health • Extensive HIV and AIDS programme implementation experience • At least 5 years’ working experience in local public health and health programme management in sub-Saharan Africa • Experience in working with the US government or other bilateral donors, especially CDC/PEPFAR • Experience in working in collaboration with Local Government partners and local community structures • Project management experience, with proven ability to ensure high-quality programme outcomes • A valid driver’s licence and ability to travel extensively.
