The Office of the Auditor General draws its mandate from the Constitution of Kenya. Article 229 of the constitution establishes the Office of the Auditor–General.
Article 248, Section 3 and Article 249, Section 2 (a) and (b) provides for the independence of the Office of the Auditor-General.
The Auditor-General is mandated to audit of Accounts of all National and County Governments, among other Public Entities.
Pursuant to Article 252 (1) (c) of the Constitution, the Office seeks to recruit qualified and competent staff to fill the following vacant positions:-

Duties and Responsibilities
A Senior Supervisor -Audit may be in charge of a Branch responsible for audit of a Ministry/Department, a number of Ministries/Departments, Local Authorities, State Corporations or a Province.
He/she may also be deployed in the Performance and Forensic Audit Department or in the Corporate Services or assigned any other duty or responsibility the Office may deem appropriate.
A Senior Supervisor -Audit who may be a Branch Head/ will be responsible for the overall supervision and operation of the Branch including day to day administration, staff development and discipline.
He/she will also be responsible for the accuracy of accounts, reports or other correspondence emanating from the Branch.
Requirements for appointment
Appointment to the grade of Senior Supervisor -Audit will be made from persons who have served in the
position of Supervisor-Audit for a minimum period of three (3) years in a sizable and similar organization and who must have:-
- Completed CPA(K)/IIA/CISA/CFE examination or recognized equivalents: or
- A Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized University
- Demonstrated administrative capabilities and a high degree of competence in work performance and in managing the audit functions or other responsibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review and Implement Internal and External Communication Policy and Strategy;
- Manage the Corporate image of the organization;

Duties and responsibilities:
The Internal Audit Director will be responsible for carrying out internal audit and investigations within the Office of the Auditor General, assessing the adequacy of risk management policies, adequacy of internal controls and compliance with best practice in governance of the organization.
He/she will also be responsible for providing independent objective assurance and investigations designed to enhance the integrity and ethical standards of Office of the Auditor General.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate and manage the entire supply chain processes and all procurement activities for the OAG.

Legal Officer

Duties and Responsibilities
- Giving legal advice to the Auditor General’s Office and other staff to ensure the best legal approach is taken in all matters of the Office as well as advice on matters of law;
- Drawing up and submitting major contracts, agreements and other legal documents.
- Advice the Office of the Auditor General on HR and any related disciplinary issues.
- Representing the Office in court cases as necessary.
Requirements for appointment:
- A first degree in Law degree from a recognized University. Any relevant post graduate qualifications will be an added advantage
- Must be an advocate of the High Court of Kenya with a minimum of 5 years in Public and Private Sector Organization.
- Must demonstrate a experience in handling relevant legal matters.
- A member of good standing with the relevant professional body
