1.0 POST: SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER (1 POST) GRADE: TPGS 7
NUMBER OF POST (1) STATION: Tanga Port
Reporting to: Principal Engineer
1.1 TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Contract for Unspecified period of time.
1.2 REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE.
1. First Degree in Mechanical Engineering
2. Registered by the ERB as Professional Engineer
3. At least 3 years working experience in related field.
4. Computer literate.
1.3 DUTIES:
a) Coordinates mechanical engineering activities at the port.
b) Develops and implements equipment operation and maintenance plans to minimize accidents and improve on reliability:
c) Evaluates performance of equipment in relation to cost, durability and other parameters and recommending on their suitability for company use.
d) Participates in administrative issues regarding mechanical engineering
e) Ensures that all Mechanical faults in equipment/plants are reported to management and repairs are conducted as required.
f) Produces periodic reports to management on equipment maintenance
g) Ensures proper running of the Workshop Mechanical Wing.
h) Supervises, appraises staff and identifies development and training needs.
i) Performs any other duties as assigned
2.0 POST: SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER (1 POST) GRADE: TPGS 7
NUMBER OF POST (1) STATION: Tanga Port
Reporting to: Principal Engineer
2.1 TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Contract for Unspecified period of time.
2.2 REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE.
A. First Degree in Mechanical Engineering
B. Registration by ERB as Professional Engineering
C. Computer Literate
D. At least 3 years of working experience in related field
2.3 DUTIES
Ensures quality and timely repairs on TPA equipment in the workshop.
Monitors the performance of the equipment with regard to running costs, and availability and against the set standards;
Participates in implementation of strategies on equipment operations and maintenance.
Ensures that all plant, tools & Equipment are accept in good working conditions;
Directs teams of technicians to undertake maintenance activities for Folk Lifts.
Supervises, appraises staff and identifies development and training needs
Performs any other duties as assigned from time to time.
3.0 POST: ELECTRICAL ENGINEER (1 POST) GRADE: TPGS 6
NUMBER OF POST (1) STATION: Tanga
Reporting to: Principal Engineer
3.1 TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Contract for Unspecified period of time.
3.2 REQUIRED QUALIFICCATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
1. First Degree in Electrical Engineering
2. Registration by ERB as Professional Engineering.
3. Computer Literate
4. At least 3 years of working experience in related field
3.3 DUTIES
1. Supervises the electrical and electronics engineering Activities;
2. Ensures smooth operation of the power plant;
3. Ensures adequacy of needs for electrical equipment/plant gear or installation and related facilities;
4. Supervises appraises staff and identifies development and training needs.
5. Performs any other duties as assigned from time to time.
4.0 POST: SENIOR TECHNICIAN (MARINE) GRADE: TPGS 6
NUMBER OF POST (1) STATION: Tanga
Reporting to: Principal Engineer
4.1 TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Contract for Unspecified period of time
4.2. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
1. Form VI
2. Advanced Diploma in Engineering:
3. Coordinates preventive maintenance SCHEDULES
4. Class II Marine Engineering Certificate of Competence
4.3 DUTIES:
1. Assists the Senior Marine Engineer in the coordination of activities
2. Prepares periodical reports on maintenance
3. Coordinates preventive maintenance schedules
4. Performs any other duties assigned from time to time
5.0 POST: CIVIL ENGINEERING GRADE: TPGS 6
NUMBER OF POST (2)
STATION: Tanga
Reporting to: Senior Civil Engineer
5.1 TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Contract for Unspecified period of time.
5.2 REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
1. Ordinary Diploma in Civil Engineer
2. Computer Literate
3. At least 3 years of working experience in related field
6.0 POST: TECHNICIANS (CIVIL) GRADE: TPGS 6
NUMBER OF POST (4) STATION: Tanga Port
Reporting to: Senior Technicians
6.1 TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Contract for Unspecified period
6.2 required qualifications and experience
1. Ordinary Diploma or Full Technician Certificate in Civil Engineering.
2. Three years working experience in related field
3. Computer literate.
6.3 DUTIES
1. Supervises Artisans to maintain the permanent ways at the port.
2. Maintain records as required by TPA.
3. Performs any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
7.0 REMUNERATION
Attractive salary within TPA Salary Scales/Grades as indicated against the post will be offered to selected candidates.
