• Plan, manage, implement, supervise, monitor, evaluate and document all school health promotion project activities in close coordination with other program components and local government authorities, designed to support a healthy learning environment for program participants
• In collaboration with local government and other partners, coordinate and/or facilitate the implementation of school health clubs, on-site health clinics including screening for parasitic infections and de-worming, specialized and age-appropriate HIV/AIDS education, hygiene promotion, nutrition education, and other child-friendly and gender-sensitive activities using innovative approaches to health promotion with a focus on behavior change
• Design and facilitate trainings and workshops for School Committees, Parent Assemblies, teachers, student leaders, community leaders and local government authorities to promote child health based on identified needs
• Facilitate and provide technical support to project staff including ward-level Community Monitor-Mobilizers to implement community mobilization activities related to school health
• Engage with local government authorities and other stakeholders to ensure collaboration, coordination, and participation in project strategies and activities
• Monitor the implementation of health-related activities through frequent supportive supervision, including site visits
Required Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 years relevant experience in working with children preferably on issues linked to health, growing up and well-being
• University degree in public health or related field (MPH preferred)
• Previous experience in health promotion and behavior change in resource poor settings
• Fluent English and Kiswahili (written and spoken)
• Prior experience working in a multi-cultural environment
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
