Request for Proposals Email for CFLI 2011
The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) is a small fund of 200,000 CAD managed by the Embassy of Canada in Sudan. The purpose of the CFLI is to enhance the economic, cultural and social life of the people in Sudan. This is to be achieved by financing small projects involving technical, economic, educational, cultural, and/or social development assistance to the local population.
WHO CAN APPLY
· Priority will be given to Sudanese (both Northern and Southern) local community groups or organizations;
· Sudan-based international, regional and local institutions, organizations and agencies working on local development activities.
CRITERIA FOR SELECTION
· Projects must focus on one or multiple of the following priorities: (a) food security; (b) children & youth; (c) governance; (d) maternal, newborn and child health;
· Projects focusing on women and children will be prioritized;
· Proposals must include evidence that the initiative is community driven (ie. reference to a public meeting, or participatory assessment, etc);
· A contribution from the proponent is required – either in cash or kind.
· Projects budget should be between $25,000 and $50,000 USD. Funds will be received in two installments (80% at the signature of the agreement and 20% upon approved final report).
· Maximum timeframe of project implementation needs to be 6 months (beginning 1 July 2011 and completed by 31 December 2011).
DEADLINE FOR CONCEPT NOTES
· Concept notes should be submitted NO LATER than 10 June 2011 to the Embassy of Canada in Sudan, rehab.idris@international.gc.
