ENGINEERING OVERSEER: PLANNED MAINTENANCE (SENIOR PLANNER)
We require a qualified Engineering Artisan with a valid trade certificate, a minimum technical qualification of N4 and 3-5 years' experience as a Planner (plus at least 5 years in a trackless environment). Sound
knowledge of maintenance planning systems, computer literacy (MS Office) and SAP, PRAGMA, CRYSTAL and maintenance planning (manual and computer-based) experience are also essential. The
role furthermore requires Planned Maintenance certificates (Maintenance Planning, Advanced Maintenance Planning, RCAs, RCMs, Maintenance Planning for Supervisors). A Code 08 driver's licence will
furthermore be required. Our ideal person is able to undertake work planning and control and has analytical skills. A Diesel Fitting Trade Certificate will be advantageous.
Duties and responsibilities include: ● Taking accountability for and heading up the Trackless Planned Maintenance Department ● Preparing schedules for the maintenance of equipment according to technical specifications and organisational standards ● Preparing detailed specifications for the work to be carried out at scheduled intervals ● Preparing lists of components for replacement at scheduled maintenance intervals
● Co-ordinating, where necessary, alterations to the schedules for maintenance, to suit the operating and maintenance sections ● Continuously monitoring trends in equipment failure/maintenance and advising the Section Engineer and Engineering Foreman accordingly to ensure continuous improvement ● Generating reports according to departmental requirements and client needs ● Performing administrative duties to ensure record accuracy and availability, budget compliance and spares availability ● Developing and implementing maintenance procedures ● Performing on-the-job training and coaching to end-users and subordinates (Planner Clerks) to enhance the overall performance of the Maintenance System ● Compiling, implementing and managing the re-built schedule.
