1. Registrar Administration - Grade NT15, Ref: MMU/EA/01/03/2016
The applicants for the position MUST possess the following qualifications and experience:
i. PhD degree in Public Administration, Business Administration or Human Resource Management or equivalent from an institution recognized in Kenya.
ii. At least five (5) years administrative experience, three (3) of which as Deputy Registrar Administration Grade NT14 or its equivalent.
iii. CPS (K) or equivalent professional qualification.
iv. Have outstanding professional competence in administration or Management.

2. Manager Corporate Affairs - Grade NT13, Ref: MMU/EA/02/03/2016
The applicants for the position MUST possess the following qualifications and experience:
i. Masters Degree in Corporate Communication or equivalent from an institution recognized in Kenya.
ii. Must be a member of Public Relations Society of Kenya (PRSK) or equivalent professional body.
iii. At least five (5) years experience three (3) of which as Public Relations Manager Grade NT12 or its equivalent.
iv. Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills, be result oriented, team player and be a person of high integrity.
v. Computer Literacy
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Vice Chancellor for corporate communication as here under:
i. Coordination and development of corporate communication policies.
ii. Design and preparation of promotion and advertisement materials.
iii. Projecting the University through best corporate communication strategies.
iv. Marketing the University, services and products offered.
v. Promoting a positive portrayal of the University through appropriate public relations practice.
3. Hotel Manager– Grade 13, Ref: MMU/EA/03/03/2016
Qualifications
i. Masters degree in Hotel Management, Food Technology, Institutional Management or any other relevant field plus 7 years experience in Hotel Management
ii. Must have worked in at least a Four Star Hotel at A Senior Management level for at least 3 Years with proven excellent performance.
iii. Computer proficiency and ability to use the relevant hotel management softwares.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor/AF&P for hotel services as here under:
i. Planning and organizing accommodation, catering and other hotel services;
ii. Promoting and marketing the Hotel;
iii. Managing budgets and financial plans as well as controlling expenditure; iv. Setting and achieving sales and profit targets;
v. Ensuring compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other Statutory Regulations.
4. Transport Officer - Grade NT12, Ref: MMU/EA/04/03/2016
The applicants for the position MUST possess the following qualifications and experience:
i. Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Automotive Option) or
Transport Management or equivalent from an institution recognized in Kenya.
ii. At least three (3) years relevant work experience as Transport Officer Grade NT10/11 or its equivalent.
iii. Computer Literacy
iv. A postgraduate degree in business administration or its equivalent will be an added advantage.
v. Diploma in Fleet Management or its equivalent is an added advantage.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Registrar Administration for the management of transport as here under:
i. Preparation and management of the budget transport budget.
ii. Determination of staff needs for the transport section.
iii. Evaluation of staff development needs by the staff in transport section.
iv. Scheduling of repair and maintenance of University vehicles.
v. Supervision of the staff, vehicle movement and fuel usage to ensure efficiency of resource usage.
vi. Ensuring that the university vehicles are road worthy through regular inspection and insurance.
vii. Ensuring that the university is current in fleet management.
5. Deputy Chief Security Officer- Grade NT11, Ref: MMU/EA/05/03/2016
The applicants for the position MUST possess the following qualifications and experience:
i. Bachelors Degree in Criminology, Strategic Management (Security)or its equivalent from an institution recognized in Kenya.
ii. At least six (6) years relevant experience, three (3) if which as Security Officer Grade NT10 in a university or its equivalent.
iii. Be appropriately trained in either the National Youth Service or Kenya Defense Forces either in the rank of Inspector or lieutenant.
iv. Must be of high integrity and have ability to supervise staff.
v. Valid Certificate of Good Conduct.
vi. Must have Certificate of Discharge.
vii. Be at least thirty (30) years of age.
viii. Should be physically and mentally fit.
ix. Computer Literacy.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Chief Security Officer for the coordination and professional handling of security as here under:
i. Carrying out investigations and security operations
ii. Liaising with local security agencies within the area.
iii. Provision of regular intelligence and security briefing.
iv. Ensuring safety of University properties, staff, students and visitors.
v. Rapid response in handling security incidences within the University.
6. Web Administrator- Grade NT8/9, Ref: MMU/EA/06/03/2016
The applicants for the position MUST possess the following qualifications and experience:
i. Bachelors Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Systems or equivalent from an institution recognized in Kenya.
ii. Certifications in software development in HTML, Object Oriented Programming, Mobile Application Programming, VB.Net and PhP.
iii. Knowledge in Java script, J-query, HTML, HTML5, CSS, CSS3, and Web Programming.
iv. Vast experience in web and web related systems administration.
v. Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Manager ICT Services for the administration and maintenance of the University Website as here under:
i. Design and install website and web related systems,
ii. Regular update and upgrade of the website including generation and revision of web pages.
iii. Carry out regular internet traffic analysis and report to the departmental head.
iv. Regulation and management of website access rights to users.
v. Customize website and university web systems according to university needs.
15. Mechanic – Grade 6, Ref: MMU/EA/07/03/2016
Qualifications
i. KCSE level of education (D+) or its equivalent.
ii. Have Government Mechanic Trade Test I Certificate or Craft Part II.
iii. Have a valid driving license Class ABCE.
iv. Valid Certificate of Good Conduct from CID.
v. Have at least 3 years experience as a Mechanic at Grade NT 5 level or its equivalent.
vi. Those with proven track record of motor vehicle repairs from recognized garages approved by AA have an added advantage.
vii. Computer Literacy
viii. Diploma in Automotive Engineering will be an added advantage.A course in Defensive driving is an added advantage.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Transport Officer for the maintenance of the University Vehicles as here under:
(i) Routine checking of the vehicles
(ii) Liaise with the drivers to inspect a vehicle before any journey
(iii) Ensure the workshop is stocked with basic maintenance and repair spares
(iv) Advise the Transport Officer on any technological and innovative methods of vehicle operations
(v) Ensure that the workshop meets the health, safety, and environmental standards

Responsibilities
Reporting to the Deputy Vice Chancellor – Academic Affairs, Research & Innovation for the supervision and management of all administrative and operational functions as here under:
i. To coordinate the functions of the heads of sections in the department
ii. Formulation and implementation of policy guidelines for the running of the department.
iii. Determining the staff establishment requirements for the sections in the department.
iv. Preparation and execution of the university wide academic calendar of activities.
v. Preparation of annual departmental budget and procurement plans
vi. Coordination of curricula development and implementation according to prevailing guidelines for quality standards.
vii. Providing secretariat to the Senate and other Academic Boards.
viii. Ensuring that appropriate supports for delivery of learning and teaching are available.
ix. Coordinating the processing of and administration of examinations.
x. Secure all records within the department for ease of access.
xi. Establish a versatile service delivery structure to facilitate ease of admission, registration and other student support needs.
xii. Coordination and issuance of transcripts and certificates.
xiii. Any other duty and responsibility that may be assigned from time to time.
Terms and Conditions:
The above positions carry competitive remuneration packages which include basic salary, house allowance, transport allowance, leave allowance and medical cover.
