DART Agency was established to facilitate the provision of quality and rapid mass transport system for the residents of Dar es Salaam with the use of high capacity buses traveling on exclusive lanes. The Agency will have the role of planning and coordinating the provision of transportation infrastructure and will oversee the operations of the system. In this regard, the DART will promote public private partnerships in the provision of the public transport services. It will involve private sector managing funds (financial institutions). Furthermore, the system will offer investment opportunities far the construction of bus terminals and depots that are envisioned to serve also as business centers. In addition to that DART Agency will also ensure there exists proper traffic management so as to improve mobility within the City and promote effective utilization of public spaces along the corridor for a healthier and livable City. Earlier last year, the Government through DART Agency signed an Interim Service Procurement contract with
UDA-RT specifically to provide commuter services on Kimara- Kivukoni route with Magomeni - Morocco and Kariakoo-Fire feeder route. The Interim Service operations are expected to commence soon.

Technical Field Support (AFC) 5 Post
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
This multi-faceted technical position is responsible for maintaining and repairing information technology equipment, analyzing customer requests for service and maintenance' calls in assigned area. The incumbent is also responsible for troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining a variety of equipment and electronic devices. An employee in this class is responsible for communicating directly with customers. Work may be performed in a shop environment or in site at other facilities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Act as first responder to infrastructure trouble- tickets including: LAN switching, wireless networking, cabling, gates and validators,
• Ticketing Office Machines (TOMs) and server issues,
• Perform routine troubleshooting, installation and maintenance on switches, routers, servers, wireless equipment, TOMs, servers and gates/ validators,
• Maintain enterprise monitoring software with all device addresses arid receive/respond to alerts accordingly,
• Assist with documenting configurations and maintaining enterprise repository of systems documentation,
• Enter all information given and received into trouble ticket database,
• Perform routine troubleshooting and maintenance on servers, accounts, applications, and UPS's,
• Assist with conducting corrective and preventive hardware maintenance on backup systems, servers. Fiber switches, load balancers and UPS's,
• Assist with documenting configurations and maintaining enterprise repository of systems documentation,
• Manage server hardware repair coverage including recommendations and tracking of systems to be covered via critical contract versus out of warranty repair,
• Manage service-level-agreements to ensure adequate customer service,
• Test new hardware for inclusion into fleet.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Thorough knowledge of the operation, uses and capabilities of computer equipment,
• Thorough knowledge of methods and techniques used to maintain and repair computer equipment,
• Thorough knowledge of the hazards of the work and of necessary safety precautions,
• Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions,
• Ability to read and understand maintenance manuals and to work from sketches, drawings and diagrams,
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and vendors; skill in the use of computer equipment,
• Ability to carry-out maintenance plans and repair schedules for technical resources in a large corporate environment,
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, organizational skills and customer service skills.
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONSAND EXPERIENCE
• Must have Advanced Diploma in Computer Science.
• 3 years of Information Technology technical hands-on experience using a combination of hardware, operating systems and client-server applications in an enterprise wide distributed computing environment. Industry relevant certifications preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to work with a team, as well as verbal and written communication skills in English and Swahili.
