Purpose of the Position
The Private Sector Fundraising (PSFR) section within PFP works with National Committees and UNICEF country offices to maximize income and drive income growth. There are five units within the PSFR section. The purpose of the Fundraising Services team is to grow income from pledge and legacy fundraising as well as supporting the other fundraising income streams through high quality fundraising content, digital fundraising expertise, best practice sharing events, database systems and other common support needs.
The Digital Fundraising Officer will play a key role in driving income through UNICEF's International online fundraising platform supportunicef.org. The post holder will:
- Oversee the day to day management, development and growth of the supportunicef.org web platform.
- Plan and coordinate International digital fundraising campaigns in non-National Committee markets.
- Support and optimize emergency fundraising opportunities through unicef.org and supportunicef.org.

Key Accountabilities and Duties & Tasks
- Increase UNICEF International's web income by overseeing the development and day-to-day maintenance of the supportunicef.org platform. Ensure that visitors to supportunicef.org are given engaging experiences through rich content and stories that prompt them to donate. This also includes the deployment of the online acquisition strategy to drive donations via supportunicef.org to ensure a steady stream of new International online donors. This may include the coordination of email marketing and other online marketing activities such as display advertising, social networking and search engine marketing.
- Cultivate and steward an international pool of online donors by providing regular feedback, donor friendly stories and digitally based offerings. This will mainly be done by using email marketing to engage donors in UNICEF's work.
- Assist National Committees and country offices in acquiring specific digital knowledge or providing technical support on implementation of digital fundraising campaigns, as well as organize and deliver digital sessions during forums or workshops.
- Regularly collect and promote new ideas, best practices and learning's on the digital section of the Fundraiser's intranet as well as on the UNICEF "digital Community of Practice" or on other similar platforms.
- Work closely with the Internet and Broadcasting team in New York to ensure a streamlined and optimized experience for visitors from unicef.org to the supportunicef.org platform, and promote key seasonal fundraising promotions and global (Good Will Ambassadors (GWA)) projects and campaigns.
- Devise and deploy digital fundraising activities to leverage emergency fundraising opportunities.
Qualifications of Successful Candidate
- Advanced University degree in Marketing, Social Science, Communication, Fundraising or Business Administration. A first level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience, two of which should be in online marketing.
- Excellent writing, interpersonal and presentation skills required.
- Must possess demonstrable knowledge of interactive technologies including e-mail marketing and online donation processing.
- Experience with website traffic tracking/analysis and user interface analysis required.
- Advertising experience a plus.
- Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) is an asset.
