Singita Grumeti is looking for highly qualified and motivated candidate to be recruited for the position of Trails Guide Trainer

Scope of work

In broad terms the guide skills facilitator oversees the following key performance areas:

1.    Assist with driving the broader goals of the company, in terms of guide training, by assisting with implementing Strategic Management Plans

2.    Identification of skills development needs

3.    Effective management and presentation of  training programmes

4.    Rifle training and Shooting Range management and recording.

5.    Ensuring Legal requirements are met for the Company

6.    Carrying out of administrative duties

7.    Assisting with Community Development/Education

8.    Assist with the guide recruitment process

9.    Effective management and presentation of  training programmes

10. Rifle training and Shooting Range management and recording.

11. Ensuring Legal requirements are met for the Company

12. Achieving service excellence though Teamwork

The person filling this position should have:

1.    Extensive experience (5+ years) in walking with dangerous game on unforgiving terrain, advanced rifle handling, shooting assessments

2.    Extensive knowledge and experience in all areas of biotic and abiotic components of an ecosystem

3.    An embedded desire to enable development and growth to disadvantaged individuals

4.    A valid driver’s license;

5.    Excellent communication and people handling skills;

6.    An inherent passion for observing, sharing and learning about wildlife;

7.    The ability to work on his/her own with enthusiasm;

8.    Flexible in that he/she is willing to change plans on the spur of the moment and is willing to innovate in the interests of the guest and the company;

9.    Co-operative – and keen to work with the balance of the team in the interests of the lodge and the guests;

10. Organized – with attention to detail and time;

11. A developmental approach to his/her staff and colleagues;

12. Professional and  neat in personal appearance and image;

13. Display the following traits that are understood to be “Core Values” by Singita;
