Currently, we are seeking for candidate to serve our Food and Nutrition Technical Assistance III Project (FANTA) in the capacity of Associate Program Officer, based in Dar es Salaam.
FANTA works to improve nutrition and food security policies, strategies, and programs through technical support to the USAID and its partners, including host country governments, international organizations, and NGO implementing partners. Focus areas for technical assistance include maternal and child health and nutrition, HIV and other infectious diseases, food security and livelihood strengthening, agriculture and nutrition linkages, and emergency and reconstruction.
Job Summary:
The incumbent will work under the under the supervision of the Program Officer to provide programmatic and administrative support for the implementation of the FANTA Project on all program activities with sub award partners, government institutions, key ministries and development partners
Position Responsibilities:
• Providing administrative support for timely implementation of FANTA Tanzania work plan
• Overseeing the online tracking of program activities; maintaining sub-award files; and maintaining project Outlook Calendars and SharePoint files
• Coordinating field travel for FANTA staff and consultants.
• Supporting coordination of workshops and meetings including planning, logistics, and preparation of materials, developing minutes and tracking follow-up.
• Supporting budgeting and costing exercises.
• Tracking administrative and programmatic requests processed by country office and FANTA HQ.
• Assisting program staff to compile data for reports.
• Providing ongoing support to all nutrition activities, including providing background information and analytical support for the program team.
• Assisting in documentation of lessons learned and experiences.
Position Requirements:
• BS/BA in administration/management or health-related field with at least 3 years of relevant working with management of public health programs, preferably with USAID/PEPFAR funded partners.
• Proven track record of effective team work while supporting a national portfolio of work.
• Demonstrated ability to set priorities, work on multiple tasks simultaneously and deliver quality results under pressure of tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated experience maintaining extensive electronic and paper files for team access.
• Experience in developing and tracking budgets with excel spreadsheets
• Experience in support aspects of financial administration, including documenting and maintaining expenditures
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English and Kiswahili, both written and verbal.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, professional conduct while maintaining good relationships with a wide variety of professionals, organizations and partners.
• Commitment to the highest ethical and professional standards.
• Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office programs
