RE: Call for applications for postgraduate training at Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA); Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences, (MUHAS), University of Ghana (UG) and University of Zambia, (UNZA) for the academic year 2014/15.
Sokoine University of Agriculture in partnership with MUHAS, UNZA, UG and Eduardo Mondlane University (EMU) is inviting applications for MSc and PhD scholarship support for training in the following programmes which were approved by The Education, Audiovisual and Culture Agency of EU. This
project provides scholarship support for candidates wishing to pursue fulltime training or short-term placements in institutions in foreign partner countries ie not in ones' own country. This entails supporting Tanzanian candidates to pursue studies at UNZA, UG and EMU; Zambian candidates to pursue studies at SUA, MUHAS, UG and EMU; Ghanaian candidates following studies at MUHAS, SUA, UNZA and EMU and candidates from Mozambique seeking for placements at MUHAS, SUA, UNZA and UG.
The scholarship covers three cost lines ie (i) monthly stipends of 600 and 900 euros for MSc and PhD candidates respectively; payable for placements of at least 6 months, (ii) air travel and (iii) participation/tuition/bench fee of 3500 and 4000 euros for MSc and PhD candidates; payable in as one installment only when a candidate moves for at least 9.5 months.
Eligibility: This applies for candidates who are (i) already pursuing MSc or PhD studies at SUA, MUHAS, UNZA, UEM or UG and wishing to do part of their studies in other project partner countries and (ii) ongoing undergraduate students and graduates of project partner institutions wishing to pursue fulltime MSc or PhD training in another country.

(viii) PhD programme in Veterinary Medicine and Allied Sciences

(i) MSc Biotechnology
Approved programmes for University of Ghana (5 programmes)
(i) MPHIL in Applied Health Social Sciences
(ii) MPHIL in Applied Epidemiology and Disease Control includes Veterinary Public Health)
(iii) MSc Health Informatics
(iv) MSc Public Health
(v) PhD in Biomedical Sciences Approved Programmes for MUHAS (3 programmes)
(i) MSc Field Epidemiology and Laboratory Training Programme (FELTP)
(ii) MSc Public Health

Those wishing to embark on MSc or PhD studies at SUA, MUHAS, UNZA or UG are therefore encouraged to submit their applications and all relevant certified supporting documents such as certificates and transcripts for admission consideration to respective university authorities. Candidates in need of the project's support will also be required to submit same documentations to the undersigned by the 30th April May 2014 and to fill in an online application form available on the project's website (www.academic-net.ac.tz). This form can also be downloaded and submitted to the undersigned electronically. A separate announcement for scholarship support for the EMU programme will be out in August 2014.Those wishing to apply for admission at UNZA and UG should do it now as deadline is in May 2014.
