A non - profit organization founded to improve the lives of children and youth seeks Program Manager who brings a combination of entrepreneurial spirit, intellectual curiosity, strategic thinking, passion for social change, focus on tangible results, a collaborative “can do” attitude and a desire for continuous improvement.
Summary of Responsibilities
- Ensure high-quality and successful management and delivery of the NGO’s programs in Tanzania, managing relationships with multiple partner executives and managers to ensure relevant stakeholders are aligned and happy.
- Execute the NGO’s Search & Selection program in partnership with partner company Marketing and Corporate Responsibility Managers – a national campaign and evaluation process to identify and assess Tanzania’s most promising Social Entrepreneurs with solutions to problems faced by children
- Execute the NGO’s Incubator program for social entrepreneurs
- Provide support to the NGO’s social entrepreneurs, finalists and applicants to grow their enterprises and contribute to social change
- Provide training to Partner Company Managers and staff on the NGO’s program activities.
- Develop relationships with key stakeholders, partners, experts and advisors in Tanzania to advocate the program, recruit their support and execute program strategy.
- Responsible for achieving the KPIs for the programs he/she manages and ensuring those programs are executed at or below budget.
- Manage the monitoring and reporting of the progress of our operations and indicators, and contribute to processes to measure, learn from and improve impact.
- Manage all internal and external communications relating to the program, including sending key updates to stakeholders, and managing a Facebook community currently standing at over 7,000 members
- Create, together with partners, forums for best practice and sharing of ideas and experience on successful implementation of the programs across the markets.
- Execute other duties as may be assigned by the Country Manager and/or Regional Director
Qualifications and Skills Required
- A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible project management positions, with a distinguished record of relevant accomplishments in the business sector and/or in the nonprofit sector.
- University degree in business, economics, public administration or a related discipline
- A passion for children’s rights and a record of engagement for social change. However a pre-existing network within Child Rights sector in Tanzania will be a big plus
- Experience running high-profile projects
- Excellent relationship building and relationship management skills
- Highly effective, crisp, and clear English & Kiswahili communicator, both in speech and writing
- Ability to manage multiple, sometimes conflicting priorities and work cooperatively to build networks and satisfy needs of internal and external stakeholder.
- Strong business acumen and excellent line management skills
- Excellent computer skills and expertise of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and general database systems. Excellent ability to quickly understand and use web based applications and platforms
- Demonstrable experience of working with social media platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
- Readiness for travel domestically and some regional travel
- Demonstrated knowledge of the practices and contributions of social entrepreneurs
- Eligible to work in Tanzania
