African Barrick Gold (ABG) seeks to appoint a dedicated, self motivated and highly organized Store man to join the Supply Department team so as to deal with Warehouse issues, Receivable and storage of Materials in accurate and efficient manner, general housekeeping, adherence to BGML Policies and procedures, Team oriented and willing to carry out all duties assigned. Based in Bulyanhulu Mine Site, the successful applicant will be providing services within the Mining site.
Reporting Line: Warehouse Supervisor
Location: Bulyanhulu Gold Mine; 1000km inland from Dar es Salaam; Shinyanga Regional, Kahama District.
Work Schedule: Rotational Status (6 weeks on, 3 Weeks Off).
Key Result Areas/Essential Functions:
-A Storeman trainee is responsible for various functions within the Warehouse including but not limited to the following:
-To be responsible for the safety standards of goods stored and issued from facilities of Bulyanhulu Gold mine warehousing operations
-Take responsibility for the safe operation of all Forklifts and other required material handling equipment
-Ensure warehouse housekeeping and all activities are carried out to a standard that is conducive to ensuring an injury free workplace
-To ensure delivery personnel and other visitors to the warehouse are comply with Bulyanhulu Gold Mine safety Policies.
-Ensure any discrepancies are reported to the responsible department in a timely manner.
-To provide efficient and timely service to customers and interfacing departments to meet or exceed the needs of the business
-Provision of parts interpretation and alternative parts possibilities
-Maintain strong communication links with all customers and interfacing departments to assist others to meet business objectives.
-To maximize the use of available technology to maintain a high standard and cost effective materials management service in an expanding and changing business environment ensuring that needs of customers are fully satisfied.
Professional and Interpersonal Details:
Qualifications: Secondary school certificates required.
Certificate in warehousing or Materials Management would be preferable.
Experience: Previous experience in warehousing preferably in Mining environment is an added advantage.
