AVRDCs Regional Center for Africa (RCA) located in Arusha conducts vegetable research and training and provides information services for the benefit of its stakeholders in the horticultural sector in Africa. To implement its growing activities especially in research and training, the Center is looking for a talented, diligent, ambitious and reliable Tanzanian citizen, who place importance on quality, team –work, and excellent research for the position of Finance/Admin Assistant Financial Responsibilities: • Carry Out day to day financial transactions and enter them into an ERP system of the Center. • Prepare all the relevant supporting documentation for the project manager to review and approve on real-time basis. • Maintain accurate records by ensuring proper and adequate filling system for financial documents. • Assist in banking activities including petty cash management in absence of the custodian. • Timely provide receipts an post receipts after liquidation of advances. • Assist in filling employees expense sheets on timely basis. • Keep record of all expenses paid by AVRDC on behalf of its partners. • Any other duties as may be assigned. Administrative Assistance Maintain records (hard and soft copies) of all projects documents for easy reference ad retrival Assist in making and follow up of requisitions for supplies and services.Interact with procuremet until to ensure supplies /goods are well received and on –time. Assist the project manager in drafting project correspondences of administrative nature.
Qualification:
Qualification and Experience:
• An advanced Diploma in Accountancy or equivalent from an institution accredited by the Tanzania Commission of Universities and a minimum of two years work experience in accounting /finance within an International environment preferably an International NGO.
• Knowledge of an ERP such as ATLAS or Oracle will be an added advantage.
• Excellent Computer skills in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, power point, Access).
• Fluency in English and Kiswahili (Spoken and written);
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to interact with partners and Colleagues in a multi-cultural setting..
