Capacity Building and Training Communications Manager (Behavior Change Communication)

Candidates must have legal authorization to work and currently reside in Tanzania.

The Capacity Building and Training Communications Manager will be responsible for leading evidence-based, cost-effective communications activities to support NAKAFA’s capacity building and training components. Working as part of the coordinated behavior change communications (BCC) team, the Capacity Building and Training Manager will closely work with Nafaka project staff to enhance the training and capacity building materials on the project. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership

• Represent Danya before stakeholders and oversee the implementation of Nafaka ICT activities.
• Establish and maintain a productive relationship with key stakeholders, including government officials, NGOs, and community groups for smooth implementation.

Management

• Work collaboratively with Nafaka project staff and Danya regional staff to ensure proper financial projections, reporting, spending, and compliance with project terms and conditions.
• Ensure all communications deliverables are met on time and of high quality.
• Promote and support the dissemination of best practices among the project teams.
• Ensure the quality of the technical deliverables of consultants and programmers.
• Contribute to timely, accurate, and appropriate reporting of program activities and results to the donor, including progress reports and annual reports.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Relevant bachelor’s degree with postgraduate-level training preferred
• A  minimum  of  6+  years  of  experience  in  designing  and  implementing BCC or developing training materials   
• Experience successfully executing communications strategies
• Experience identifying and developing behavior change messages
• Experience developing high-impact communications materials
• Strong change management, results-oriented, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work in a complex environment with multiple tasks, short deadlines, and intense pressure to perform
  • Fluency in English and Swahili

PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS

• Understanding of USAID food security interventions, including FTF programming
