Uwezo Tanzania REGIONAL COORDINATORS

Do you have experience working in the education sector or other field in social sciences? Interested in joining a dynamic organization working in Tanzania to promote learning among the children?

Uwezo Tanzania is looking for part time Regional Coordinators, one in each of the 21 regions, who will be contracted for 4 months to support, and monitor District Coordinators in the implementation of Uwezo learning assessment survey and communication activities that will be conducted in 2013. The assessment activities will begin in March 2013.

Specific task of a regional coordinator will be:

• Attend all capacity building workshops/training meant for District Coordinators and Regional Coordinators

• Follow up implementation of the 2013 annual assessment and document the experiences and share with Uwezo secretariat for the way forward.

• Support and monitor pre- assessment activities, particularly village visits by District Coordinators to recruit volunteers and sample the assessment of households, and district trainings.
• Coordinate collection of survey booklets and timely submission to the secretariat after the assessment
• Support the secretariat to conduct post assessment process recheck, feedback meetings and re-survey.

• Participate in communication activities within your region as executed by Partner Organizations – advising on communications objectives and dissemination plans.

Eligibility and Qualification

•    Should possess university degree  preferably master’s degree or equivalent  in the education or social work
• Should have experience of 5 years or more in research and  education related interventions
• Should be a resident in a particular region she/he is applying for

• Should be conversant with education policies and programs which are currently being implemented in the country
• Excellent communication and writing skills in English and Kiswahili with demonstrable attention to detail
• Ability to deliver quality results on short notice where necessary and with minimum supervision.

• Curiosity and passion to learn, innovative, able to take thoughtful risks and get things done.
