Purpose of the Position:
Under the general guidance of the Systems Analyst, the Programmer Analyst has major responsibilities as a programmer for the development, implementation and maintenance of system programmes, forms, reports, interface functions and procedures related to all UNICEF Enterprise systems, particularly the VISION, eRecruitment, CRM and Third Party Interfaces. The incumbent will also be responsible for developing, documenting, testing, implementing, maintaining and supporting interface related programs and applications.
Qualifications of Successful Candidate:
First University Degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering or related field(s) required. Knowledge of SAP is considered highly desirable. Minimum of two years of relevant work experience in programming and/or systems development. Experience with related finance and logistics interfaces is considered an asset. Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another UN language is desirable.
Key Expected Results:
- Develops programs and keeps documentation up to date. Tests and releases solutions into production, after the program/procedures have been approved by the QA. Supports user queries related to application integration.
- Maintains existing interface programs and procedures. Monitors errors and suggests improvements in the technical areas.
- Provides documentation on new and existing application integration areas. Works closely with the Systems Analyst to ensure that the application integrity is maintained across the enterprise.
- Recommends architectural improvements and simplification of interfaces to ensure consistency, data integrity and better performance.
- Keeps abreast of developments within the area of information technology and advises supervisor on new application areas and technology.
- Performs any other related duties as required by the Supervisor.
