Triple Jump is looking for a Senior Advisor - Africa and the Middle East. S/he will be responsible for sourcing potential MFI partners among tier 3 and 4 MFIs in Africa.
Triple Jump is looking for a Senior Advisor - Africa and the Middle East. S/he will be responsible for sourcing potential MFI partners among tier 3 and 4 MFIs in Africa.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Working together with investment officers, analyze MFIs’ operational needs, and determine the technical assistance required within Triple Jump advisory services (TJAS’s) core service areas;
- Develop and propose grants for TA;
- Develop terms of reference (ToR) for TA projects in conjunction with MFI management and consultants;
- Find and assign consultants for TA projects. Prepare and manage contracts;
- Monitor TA projects, problem solve, and provide project advising;
- Monitor consultants on projects, track progress and deliverables;
- Specialize in at least one service area: IT/mobile banking, credit assessment/monitoring, product development, social performance management;
- Develop an extensive network of partners and practitioners. Be involved in industry events, representing Triple Jump in a professional and service-oriented manner;
- Travel as necessary within the region as well as to Triple Jump head office in Amsterdam.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 to 7 years microfinance experience, preferably acquired by working at an MFI, development agency or as a microfinance consultant;
- Minimum 3 to 5 years consulting experience (i.e. consulting services, providing capacity building, technical assistance services, etc.);
- Knowledge and experience with several of the following issues: IT (MIS/mobile banking), microfinance credit methodology, credit and savings product development, social performance management;
- Solid project management skills;
- Familiarity with the microfinance sector in Africa and the Middle East;
- Experience working internationally;
- Fluency in English and French.
