The Institute for Security Studies (ISS) is an independent, non-profit organisation. The Institute works to advance human security in Africa through evidence-based policy advice, technical support and capacity building and has offices in Addis Ababa, Dakar, Nairobi and a head office located in Pretoria.
The CMPB Division works in the following thematic areas:

Area 3: Security sector reform and governance
Area 4: Gender, peace and security
Area 5: Maritime security

We have a vacancy for two interns for 6 months. These interns will be based in the Pretoria office. The successful candidates will have good research, analysis, writing and communication skills. He/She will be knowledgeable on Post-conflict Reconstruction, Peacebuilding and Gender Peace and Security in Africa.
Requirements:
- An honours degree
- Excellent research, language and writing skills;
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines;
- A willingness to learn.
Salary: The interns will be paid a modest stipend.
