IHS has an immediate opening for

Two Senior Academic Staff (Prof/ Dr): Urban Planning/ Urban Infrastructure Finance (m/f)

The focus of the senior urban planner will be on integrated and strategic forms of planning; where physical, social, economic and environmental objectives meet.

 

The focus of the urban infrastructure finance professional will be on innovative financial instruments for urban infrastructure.

 

At the Institute, the candidates will provide research, training and advisory services in, respectively, the fields of urban planning and infrastructure finance. They will be responsible for expanding the portfolio of (applied) research, education and advisory projects with a small multidisciplinary team within the institute.

 

Qualifications:

-          At least 15 years of relevant international experience in working in an academic and/or advisory capacity in developing and emerging economies;

-          PhD and/or professorship in urban planning / infrastructure finance;

-          Strong affinity for urban management and development internationally;

-          Knowledge of international research, education and advisory markets, and strong acquisition skills;

-          Leadership and managerial abilities, including the ability to coach and motivate staff;

-          Flexible attitude and ability to work within multi-disciplinary and multi-national teams;

-          Excellent command of English and knowledge of or willingness to learn Dutch

-          Networker, with international connections.
