The Regional Business Intelligence Analyst (RBIA) is in charge of extracting, building, consolidating and validating reports and cubes for all African operations, as well as doing analysis on the received data.
Key Responsibilities
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
• The RBIA will validate received data as well as prepare required reports and cubes for all African operations
• The RBIA will ensure business definitions used in the reports are standard across the different operations
• The RBIA will provide required support and assistance to the Regional BDS
• The RBIA will work directly with Data Warehouse teams in the operations to extract the required data
• The RBIA will use the obtained data from the operations to run required analysis using the local DW platform or other analytical tools such as SPSS
• The RBIA will meet and collaborate with business users to understand information requirements as well as objectives and measures
• The RBIA will be responsible of creating, maintaining and documenting regional staging and data cubes for the use of regional or global management teams

Position Requirements
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Post graduate and/or courses in Data Analytics, Data Warehouse, Business Analytics, Business Intelligence are desired
• Minimum 4 years experience working in Telecom as business analyst or related position
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE & ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE
• Strong technical understanding of relational database concepts and experience with SQL Server or Oracle
• Strong technical understanding of OLAP and experience with a specific product (preferably SSAS)
• Working knowledge with Business Intelligence tools (e.g. Business Objects, MicroStrategy, Sharepoint)
• Strong understanding of Telecom business concepts
• Proven experience working with Excel (advanced knowledge required)
• Basic understanding of main data mining algorithms applicable to Telecom (e.g. clustering, churn prediction)
• Basic understanding of Data Warehouse philosophies (Kimball, Inmon, Schmitz)
• Basic knowledge of Data Governance Processes including but not limited to data quality assurance, data stewardship, technical and business metadata management
• Good understanding of computer system characteristics, features, and integration capabilities
• Ability to understand Telecom technical subjects
